Description

The Latest on This Revolutionary Diet, Plus a Metabolism-Revving Exercise Plan for Faster Weight Loss and Better Overall Health! In the all-new The South Beach Diet Supercharged, Dr. Arthur Agatston shows you how to rev up your metabolism and lose weight faster while following the proven healthy eating principles of the original diet: choose good carbs, good fats, lean protein, and low-fat dairy. Collaborating with Dr. Joseph Signorile, a professor of exercise physiology at the University of Miami, Dr. Agatston presents a cutting-edge, three-phase workout that perfectly complements the three phases of the diet itself. Based on the latest exercise science, this ease-into-it fitness program combines low- and high-intensity interval exercise (with a focus on walking) and functional core body-toning exercises. The result: You'll feel better and you'll burn more fat and calories all day long. The audio program includes an enhanced CD with PDF versions of all charts, photos, meal plans, and recipes from the book.

Reviews

AudioFile Magazine...
Ganser and Rogers do a splendid job delivering the first-person case studies and much of the commentary in this state-of-the-art health presentation. The sections read by principal author Agatston are less enjoyable, but they do connect listeners with his helpful intent and personal story. The advice is to start with a two-week crash diet aimed at rapid weight loss, then move to a more relaxed period aimed at slower losses, and then to a maintenance phase that involves habits that should last a lifetime. Choosing good carbs and good fats helps maintain optimal blood sugar and reduce inflammation--key factors in many illnesses and cravings. This practical and warm guide encourages the everyday adjustments necessary to feeling better more of the time. T.W. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
